Deng Junbing has devoted much of the last seven years studying Gandhiji’s life, driven by the ambition of bringing his message of peace and tolerance to China. She discovered Gandhiji when she moved to India in 1998 along with her husband Zhou Gang, who served as China’s Ambassador to India until 2001. This week, her Chinese translation of The Good Boatman, the Mahatma’s biography by Rajmohan Gandhi, hits Beijing’s stands.

Two of the four surviving grandsons of Mahatma Gandhi visited the campus of the University of California, San Diego on Feb. 14 to participate in the annual Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Lecture series – and they did so to a standing-room-only audience.

The Central European University (CEU) hosted an international conference on 'Gandhi in a Globalized World: Contemporary Relevance of Gandhian Thought'. The event reunited renowned scholars from all over the world, including Lord Bhikhu Parekh, University of Westminster, Ashis Nandy, Indian Council of Social Science Research, Rajmohan Gandhi, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Rajmohan Gandhi spoke at the City Club of Cleveland about his grandfather and his new book. He also visited the Indian Cultural Garden in Cleveland. He spoke about his grandfather and posed for photos in front of the impressive Mahatma Gandhi statue. He also assisted in planting and dedicating a tree in the Garden.
