Rajmohan and Usha Gandhi join Day of Prayer for Peace in Assissi

8 November, 2011

In 1986 Pope John Paul II had convened in Assisi a Day of Prayer for Peace with representatives of the world's religions. Commemorating that event twenty five years later, Pope Benedict XVI travelled on October 27, 2011 from Rome to Assisi with representatives of different religious traditions, and also some with no faith beliefs, all invited by him as Pilgrims of Truth, Pilgrims of Peace for an inter-religious Day of Reflection, Dialogue and Prayer for Peace and Justice in the World. Rajmohan and Usha were among the participants.

To mark the event, a beautiful bronze-titled volume has been issued by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the Sacred Convent of St. Francis of Assisi. It contains a short text invited from Rajmohan.
